Meet Our Physicians
Scott Rackett, MD
A native of Connecticut, Dr. Rackett has been practicing dermatology in the South Bay for over 14 years. He is a graduate of Georgetown University and earned his medical degree from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine. Subsequently, Dr. Rackett completed internship at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center and a dermatology residency at Dartmouth Medical School. He is certified by the American Board of Dermatology. Dr. Rackett is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery, and the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery. In addition, his clinical research has been published in several medical journals including the Archives of Dermatology, Pediatric Dermatology, and the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology. Dr. Rackett lectures and trains other physicians in both medical and cosmetic dermatology. Dr. Rackett was voted "Best Dermatologist" for 2011 and 2013 by Easy Reader Magazine and is a recipient of the Patients Choice Award for 2008-2013. He specializes in all areas of dermatology including skin cancer screening and treatment, medical dermatology, and cosmetic treatments including Botox and laser skin rejuvenation.
Tanya Kormeili, MD
Board Certified Dermatologist Dr. Tanya Kormeili also treats patients at Manhattan Beach Dermatology. Dr. Kormeili is a magna cum laude graduate and two time Regents Scholar of the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA). She received her medical degree from the UCLA School of Medicine and also completed internship at ULCA. Dr. Kormeili completed her dermatology residency at UC Irvine and has been practicing dermatology since 2007. She is an assistant clinical professor of dermatology at the UCLA School of Medicine and has authored numerous textbook chapters and research articles in dermatology. A member of the American Academy of Dermatology, the Women's Dermatologic Society, and the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery, Dr. Kormeili prides herself on providing the absolute best service and care to each of her patients. Her areas of expertise include medical dermatology, skin cancer diagnosis, women's dermatology, laser surgery, and the treatment of skin cancer utilizing the Mohs surgery technique. Dr. Kormeili also has extensive experience with various dermal fillers, Botox, non-surgical facial rejuvenation and the use of other anti-aging treatments to provide patients with healthy, glowing skin.

Daniela Leslie, NP-C
Daniela Leslie is a board-certified family nurse practitioner who provides both medical and cosmetic dermatology services to patients at Manhattan Beach Dermatology. She received her Master's degree and Nurse Practitioner education at UCLA and has been practicing in aesthetic medicine since 2002. As a certified instructor for the cosmetic use of Botox and facial fillers for aesthetic enhancement, Daniela travels to other states to train physicians and nurse practitioners in cosmetic procedures. Prior to medical aesthetics, Daniela has worked in gastroenterology, pediatrics, women's health, and plastic surgery. Daniela regularly attends conferences and classes to update her knowledge on the constant advancements in cosmetic dermatology. Recently, Daniela received training on the latest dermal filler technique called the Injectable Thread Lift. This technique contours the face and in addition to replacing volume loss, redirects and lifts the skin.

A nurse practitioner (NP) is a registered nurse (RN) who has completed advanced education such as a master's degree in the diagnosis and management of common medical conditions. NPs provide some of the same care provided by physicians and collaborate regularly with them. They see patients of all ages, and the core philosophy of the field is individualized care. NPs focus on patients' conditions as well as the effects of illness on the lives of the patients and their families. NPs make prevention, wellness, and patient education priorities.

- Collaborating with her supervising dermatologist and other health professionals as needed, including providing referrals to other specialists
- Counseling and educating patients on healthy behaviors, skin care, and treatment options
- Diagnosing and treating acute illnesses and skin infections (e.g., staph bacteria, herpes, fungal infections)
- Diagnosing, treating, and monitoring chronic diseases (e.g., rosacea, psoriasis, eczema)
- Obtaining medical histories and conducting skin examinations
- Ordering, performing, and interpreting diagnostic studies (e.g., lab tests, cultures, and skin biopsies)
- Prescribing oral and topical medications and recommending non-prescription skin care products
- Providing health maintenance care for adults, including annual skin health screenings
- Performing minor skin surgical procedures such as the removal of warts, moles, skin tags, and precancerous growths
