Molluscum contagiosum
Molluscum contagiosum (MC) is a viral infection of the skin common in both adults and children. MC lesions look like tiny skin-colored bumps that increase in number over several weeks or months. They can be spread from person to person through direct contact, including sexual contact, or by indirect contact, such as sharing towels, or from swimming pools and bath tubs. Various treatments including freezing, scraping, topical creams, or the application of blistering agents are available to treat MC.
