These are small white bumps, non-inflamed white heads, commonly seen on the face in women. They represent tiny epidermal cysts and may be caused by the use of thick moisturizers on the face. Because the skin needs to be lanced in order to extract these lesions, removal should only be done under sterile conditions in the dermatology office and not at home.
