Lichen Planus
Lichen Planus (LP) is an itchy skin condition characterized by flat-topped, smooth bumps classically appearing on the wrists. LP can affect the mucus membranes, especially the lips and inside of the mouth, where it has a white, lacy appearance. Sometimes LP can be associated with hepatitis C and all at-risk patients should be given a hepatitis screening test. There is no cure for LP, but various treatments do exist improve the rash. Treatments include topical cortisones, injected cortisone, or light therapy.
