Brown Spots/ Facial Discoloration
Diffuse facial brown spots are usually associated with sun exposure and can be one of the earliest signs of aging. Many occur after childbirth or while on birth control pills. Many various treatments are available for the treatment of brown spots including cryotherapy (freezing), lasers, light devices such as IPL (intense pulsed light), topical agents, and chemical peels. The hallmark of treatment is good daily sun protection. Treatments to diminish pigmentation are designed individually for each patient based on careful clinical exam, the patient's skin type, and the degree of pigmentation.
