Broken Blood Vessels (telangectasia)
Dilated or 'broken" blood vessels, also called telangectasias, are small red veins seen in fair-skinned individuals on the face, especially around the nose. They can also be found in areas of chronic sun exposure on the neck and chest and give an aged, sun damaged look in those areas. Telangectasias can also be part of rosacea and cause diffuse redness over the face and chest. While some topical treatments can mildly improve facial redness, lasers are by far the most effective treatment for these lesions. During a consultation, we can provide you with a comprehensive treatment regimen including sensitive skin cleansers, moisturizers, sunscreen, and redness reducing creams to supplement your laser treatment.
